This past weekend at the Davis Legacy Soccer Complex, over fifty college coaches from thirty-one schools, watched NorCal NPL teams play league matches at the 2015 NorCal NPL Spring College Showcase. The weekend saw the conclusion of the NorCal NPL Boy's Champions League which crowned NPL Champions in the U15-U19 age groups. 2015-16 NorCal NPL Champions included Marin FC (U19 Boys), PAC San Jose Indios (U17 Boys), Sacramento United (U16 Boys), and Placer United (U15 Boys). Each of the NorCal NPL Champions will represent NorCal at the 2015 NPL Finals in Westfield, Indiana.

U15 Boys Champions League

Placer United clinched their club's third NorCal NPL title this weekend at the NorCal NPL Boy's Showcase when their U15 boys won the Spring Champions League. Placer United picked up a huge 2-0 win on Saturday morning over Santa Clara Sporting to pass them in the standings and take control of first place. Heading into the final day, four teams still had a chance at the NPL title with Santa Clara Sporting, Marin FC, and Santa Rosa United still in contention. Needing a win, Placer United faced some nervy moments when EBU Bay Oaks took an early 1-0 lead in the 19th minute on a goal from Fahem Ibrahim. Placer United quickly responded with a goal three minutes later from Jordon Vice. Just before halftime, Kegan Ness scored a crucial goal for Placer United to give them a 2-1 lead that they would hold until the final whistle. With Santa Clara Sporting and Marin FC drawing 1-1, and Santa Rosa United Arsenal winning 4-0 over Odyssey South, three teams were tied for 2nd with fourteen points. Based on the "head-to-head points" tiebreaker, Sporting finished in second, Santa Rosa in third, and Marin FC in fourth.

U16 Boys Champions League

Sacramento United outlasted Placer United to win the U16 NorCal NPL title on Sunday at the NorCal NPL Spring Showcase. Only Sacramento United and Placer United had a chance at the division title heading into the final day, after both teams picked up wins on Saturday. Sacramento United would clinch the division title with a win over Santa Clara Sporting, a Placer United draw, or loss against De Anza Force. It came down to the very end with tense second halves in both matches and both games tied heading into the final moments. Placer United could not score the winner despite an excellent chance in the final moments. The ball was heroically saved off the line by a De Anza defender. Although Sacramento United were held to a draw, the Placer United draw meant they stayed at the top of the division. Placer United finished in second place with Davis Legacy in third.

U17 Boys Champions League

The PAC San Jose Indios took home the U17 boys NPL title this weekend at the NorCal NPL Spring Showcase in Davis. On Saturday, PAC San Jose Indios beat Earthquakes - East Valley, 1-0, in a hard fought match between two of the league's top teams. A Sacramento United 3-2 loss against Almaden FC set up a winner-take-all final match between Sacramento United and PAC San Jose Indios. Entering the match, PAC San Jose needed a draw to win the league, but after only two minutes, found themselves down on a Sac United goal by Omar Magana. PAC leveled quickly, with Albert Munante scoring in the thirteenth minute. The teams remained tied until the fifty-fourth minute when Angel Gil Briseno broke through and calmly finished with the outside of the right foot. PAC San Jose added to their lead moments later on a goal from Juan Rameriz Gonzales. Sac United got back into the game in the sixty-seventh minute on an own goal. This set up a fantastic and tense final twenty-three minutes, but PAC San Jose held on for the win and league championship.

U19 Boys Champions League

Marin FC Blue clinched the U19 Champions League title this weekend at the NorCal NPL Spring Showcase. Despite a loss to CV San Jose FC on Saturday, Marin FC Blue won the division with wins over Odyssey South on Friday (2-1) and Diablo FC (3-0 forfeit) on Sunday. Finishing in second place was Palo Alto Blue who lost to Mustang, 4-2, on Saturday but picked up a 2-1 win over Atletico Santa Rosa on Sunday.
