2015 ODP Boys Florida Interregional Day 3

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (Dec. 7, 2015) – The annual US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program (US Youth Soccer ODP) Boys Florida Interregional finished Monday in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. with all age groups completing the action. The three-day tournament, which took place at Lakewoos Ranch High School featured elite boys teams in the 1998 and 1999 age groups from each of the four US Youth Soccer Regions.
 
The players were selected from US Youth Soccer State Association and Regional level evaluations. Throughout the week, players will attend training sessions and compete in matches against other Regions, in front of U.S. Soccer national staff and collegiate coaches to maximize their exposure for selection to the next level of play.
 
With programs in all 55 US Youth Soccer State Associations, US Youth Soccer ODP, the original Olympic development program, is available to any player. US Youth Soccer ODP is the only elite player development program that can claim members of Major League Soccer, the National Women’s Soccer League, and the majority of current and past national and youth national team members, as alumni.

Highlights from Day 3:

1998 Boys: Region I v. Region III

Region III took home its first win of the tournament on the final day of play with a 2-1 victory over Region I. Region I's Emgi Gousse was able to find the back of the net, but Region III would tack on two goals in the match in order to come out the victor. 

1998 Boys: Region II v. Region IV

Region II would claim the 1998 age group thanks to a 2-0 win over Region IV and a goal differential tie breaker. Evan Dujardin and Sebastian Mbaya scored their first respective goals of the tournament to power Region II to the 2-0 win and ultimately a division title.

1999 Boys: Region I v. Region III

Region I finished the tournament unbeaten after a 2-0 win over Region III. Justin Hahn and Matthew O'Connell would find the back of the net, and Region I's defense would hold on for the clean sheet to give Region I the win.

1999 Boys: Region II v. Region IV
Region II would claim its second title as a 3-0 win over Region IV would put the squad at the top of the 1999 age group. Leroy Enzugusi would break the scoreless stalemate and double Region II's lead with two straight goals, and Ryan Johnston would add another insurance goal for the 3-0 win.
