LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Day 3 of the Disney Showcase featured games that decided the fate of teams as they tried to advance to the finals.

TEAM BOCA 2000 GIRLS WHITE 3, BURLINGTON BAYHAWKS 2

Team Boca 2000 Girls White beat Burlington Bayhawks 3-2 to advance to the finals.

With Team Boca trailing 1-0 in the first half after a goal by Burlington midfielder Abbi Morrell, Kelsey Clark scored on a set piece when she positioned herself perfectly on a direct kick taken by Paige Fries, heading it in past Burlington keeper Morgan McAslan. After Burlington took the lead shortly thereafter on a goal by Burlington forward Mairin Boyle, Boca midfielder Sydney Cunningham scored to make it 2-2, volleying a deflection created by a hard shot by teammate Jordan Strauss to make it 2-2 about 20 seconds before halftime.

In the second half, Kendra Cashion was fouled in the box with six minutes to play in regulation. She subsequently took the penalty kick in which McAslan saved but redirected back out to Cashion, who easily finished it past the Burlington keeper.

The win sent Boca into the finals with Burlington being sent into the consolation game.

"It was a great team effort," Boca coach Michael Crane said. "Each time (Burlington) scored, we stayed positive and generated scoring opportunities."

Standouts: the three goal scorers for Boca, Kelsey Clark, Sydney Cunningham, and Kendra Cashion for their consistent pressure on the opposing defense and for scoring timely goals.
