ESP Day 1 Coverage - Game 2

POMONA, CALIF – D’Feeters forward Chioma Ubogagu lit it up in match 2 here at the adidas ESP for Girls event, scorching the Mount San Antonio Junior College field and Cindy Cone’s Team 2 for two goals and an assist in a 4-2 win for Carlos Juarez’s Team 5.Dallas-area standout Ubogagu opened the scoring with a highlight-reel goal, racing down left wing, beating three defenders and hitting a wicked strike into the back of the net for a 1-0 Team 5 lead. Liska Dobberstein equalized with a header from Taylor Smith’s good cross.
Ubogagu scored another excellent goal early in the 2nd half to put her team up 2-1, before Jennifer Gonzalez equalized for Team 2 on a nifty assist from Kate Perry. Ubogagu was involved in the game-winning goal as well, intercepting a pass in the Team 2 end of the field, racing forward and then hitting teammate Lauren Bohaboy with a pass for an easy finish. Penn Strikers’ Dana Rosney then put the finishing touches on the game with a good strike after dribbling across the top of the area.
Megan Marsack was good in defense for Team 5, and Jessica Crowder was a good ballwinner. Perry had a solid match for Team 2.
