Caylin Prillaman, Forward, Charlotte Soccer Academy
Class: 2015
Commitment: UNC Greensboro

Someone who competes until the final whistle, Caylin Prillman’s commitment to UNC Greensboro stems from finding the right blend of school and soccer.

“UNCG has everything I want in a school,” she told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “It has a great soccer program and also a great art department. It is close enough to home for my family to come watch my games. The soccer program also has a great family atmosphere; when I visited I felt welcomed by everyone.”

The team’s coaching staff was another major factor, as she quickly hit it off with head coach Steve Nugent and his assistants.

“They really brought me in and showed me what life at the G was like and answered all of my questions with no hesitation,” Prillaman said. “And they have an incredible soccer stadium and facilities.”

Courtney O'Brien, Midfielder/Forward, Real So Cal
Class: 2015
Commitment: Princeton

A hard-working and direct forward from California, Courtney O’Brien’s commitment to Princeton was fueled by what the school could offer her both on the field and in the classroom.

“I decided to commit to Princeton because I know it will provide me with unbelievable opportunities both academically and athletically,” she told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “Princeton offers an education second to none and many of their athletes have competed at the highest levels.”

The west coast native also liked the chance to explore a new part of the country, despite its obvious distance from home.

“I was drawn to the idea of a new experience on the east coast as I have grown up in Southern California and am planning to move back here after college,” O’Brien said. “The campus is absolutely beautiful and Princeton provides extraordinary resources for all students, placing priority on their undergraduate program."

While the Tigers were unable to defend their Ivy League crown from 2012, O’Brien sees the program as an ambitious one on the field that she will fit right into.

“Princeton won the Ivy League championship last year and coach Julie Shackford has developed a competitive program making it to eight NCAA tournaments,” she said. “They also played in the College Cup semifinals while coach Esmeralda Negron was a player there. The team was very welcoming when I visited and I felt like I fit in perfectly. I feel coach Shackford will push me to be the best player I can be and I can't wait to take full advantage of all Princeton has to offer.”
