Capital Railhawks stay No. 1 at U13

The commencement of the Development Academy’s first season at this age group has proved positive for Capital Area Railhawks-CASL, whose club won the US Youth Soccer National Championship at the U13 age group in 2016. Now with birth year 2003 players, the Railhawks have started strong, earning two wins over Georgia United and local rival Carolina Railhawks. Two players, Kiran Chikmath and Luke Hille, have each earned three goals for the Raleigh based club.

FC Dallas and De Anza Force have also had good starts, with FC Dallas a perfect 3-0 including wins over Solar Chelsea SC, Texans SC Houston, and No. 13 Houston Dynamo to climb to No. 8. De Anza enters the rankings at No. 16 after a 3-0-1 start against NorCal opponents. Forward Jose Meza has five goals in De Anza’s four matches.

FC Dallas No. 1 at U14

FC Dallas finished last season at the top of this age group, and the new group of players has picked up right where they left off at No. 1. FCD earned three wins in the first three weekends of action, with 2003 birth year forward Dante Sealy earning nine goals in the process, including both goals in FCD’s 2-0 victory over Houston Dynamo.

LA Galaxy landed at No. 4 in our initial rankings, but climbs two spots to No. 2 after earning two wins to start the season. In just those two matches, class of 2020 forwards Victor Cano and Marco Ceja have eight and seven goals, respectively.

Southeast, southwest in full swing at U15

In the southwest, Boca Juniors OC B02 White leads the Coast Soccer League’s 02 Premier division, has yet to concede a goal, and remains at No. 3 in the Grande Sports TeamRank Top 25.

In the southeast, the Region III Premier League is already midway through the season, Tennessee SC 2002 Showcase leading the way at a perfect 5-0 and up three spots to No. 7 in our rankings. TNSC is followed closely by USA Mt. Pleasant 21 Premier, currently second in the regional league and No. 8 in our top 25.

Next Thursday: U13, U14, and U15 Girls

Grande Sports TeamRank is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.

The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.

Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.

A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
