CARSON, California — There are a lot of minor things that go into assembling a roster for a youth national team camp. For the U.S. U18 Men’s National Team, this week’s camp presented a new set of problems with 36 news players getting a chance to impress the coaching staff.

“It is 36 players who are completely new,” U.S. U18 MNT head coach Javier Perez told TopDrawerSoccer. “They’ve never been in the U18 national team. We feel very confident with the player pool that we have right now. The objective of this camp is to find players to add to that pool. The second objective is to inspire these players.”
