The TeamRank National Championship is a unique rankings setup that only includes team performance from the current season. It begins with events in August and ends with final events in July, at which point a new competition begins and the slate is again wiped clean. Each ranking is only for that August to July season.

To say that the U17 NSA Premier Fury girls are on a roll would be a gross understatement. Picking up steam and recognition nationally, they’re the top team in our Midwest TeamRank ranking.

In fact, NSA hasn’t lost a game since last season’s U.S. Youth National Semifinals and it doesn’t appear the Premier intend to anytime soon. They’ve won the Disney Soccer Showcase and placed first in the U.S. Youth Soccer National League. And it’s all been accomplished in dominant fashion – scoring 77 goals while surrendering just eight over the past year.

Yup, whatever comes after “a roll,” NSA Premier is most definitely on it.

“We’ve gone a long time without losing a game,” said coach Rade Martinovic. “We’ve already qualified for nationals this year and we’re happy about it. We’re a very disciplined team on the field. We stay together and everyone is capable of playing both ways. We also have one of the fastest teams in the country.

As if that wasn’t enough, NSA has an embarrassment of depth. Martinovic can regularly play 16 to 17 players at events, and has equal confidence in every one of them.

It starts with forwards Zoe Swift and Corinne Harris. Both are nationally recognized players who are as dangerous as they come.

Defender Jennifer Korn helps sustain the defense along with defender Rachel Miller and goalkeeper Jordan Ginther who had a sensational season last year.

All this talent makes for some sensational training sessions.

“Every practice is played with 100 percent intensity,” Martinovic said. “This is a very serious team and they approach everything with complete focus.”
