U.S. Youth national team midfielder Kyle Scott won the 2016 UEFA Youth League Championship on Monday with a 2-1 win over PSG. Scott started the game and played 59 minutes before being replaced in the line-up. Scott nearly set-up a goal in the opening minutes of the contest as his penetrating pass allowed one of his fellow Chelsea attackers to get in free on goal, but the midfielder was denied at the last second.

Scott and Chelsea have won back-to-back UEFA Youth League Championships, as the London squad is undefeated in the competition since Nov. 2014. Scott featured sparingly during last season’s run to the title, but he was a focal point of the team during this year’s campaign. Scott scored the game-winner in the quarterfinal tilt against Ajax.

In total, Scott finished the competition with nine starts and three goals, which was good enough for third on the title-winning side. Scott also has featured regularly with Chelsea’s U21 side this season. He made a substitute appearance in the most recent game vs. Everton on April 11.

Scott, 18 years old, signed a new contract with Chelsea in Feb, which extended his deal with the club until 2019. The midfielder has been a part of the club since U10.

Scott’s last appearance with the U.S. was in September with the U20 Men’s National Team. Scott scored the lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Serbia. He also appeared in the 2-0 win over Israel. U.S. went 1-2 at the event in Serbia.

Former Chargers SC (Tampa Bay, Fla.) Player Joins Manchester United

Nishan Burkart barely played for Chargers SC, but he left a lasting impression on the club. According to reports out of England, the 16-year-old forward signed with Manchester United this week.

Burkart played with Chargers SC for a season when he was nine years old, which is just a blimp on the radar for the promising Swiss talent. Burkart was previously with FC Zurich before signing with the global powerhouse club.

England Update

Luca de la Torre played all 90 minutes in Fulham U21’s 0-3 loss to Swansea City on Monday. It was the final game of the season for the Fulham U21 side. De la Torre finished the campaign with 18 appearances, two goals, and three assists for Fulham’s U21 team.

Daniel Barbir was an unused substitute for West Bromwich Albion U21 on Monday in the Baggies final game of the season. West Brom won the contest 2-1 over Arsenal. Barbir finished the season with seven appearances for the West Bromwich Albion U21 side.

Brooks Lennon played the full 90 minutes in Liverpool U18’s 0-2 loss to Manchester City on Saturday. Lennon set-up the best chance of the game for Liverpool when he delivered a ball across the center of the goal, but no one could put a foot on it to put it away. The Liverpool U18 side returns to action on Saturday with a game against West Ham United.
