Sebastian Saucedo signs with RSL
Real Salt Lake signed one of the top rated youth prospects in the county on Thursday. The MLS franchise in Utah inked academy star Sebastian Saucedo to a Homegrown player contract, The Salt Lake Tribune reported.
Saucedo is a gifted attacking talent who caught the eye of national team scouts after excelling with La Roca FC in Utah. Following an appearance with the U.S. U15 Boys National Team, Saucedo transitioned to RSL’s residential academy in Arizona where he emerged as a standout player in the Development Academy.
Saucedo was a catalyst of the squad that won the Development Academy U16 National Championship for the 2012-13 season. He was the leading scorer of the team last season that lost in the title game to LA Galaxy.
He is also a key piece of the U.S. U18 Men’s National Team with multiple appearances over the past year with Javier Perez’s squad. He has played with the U.S. at the U14, U15, U17, and U18 level. He figures to be in the mix for the U20 squad in 2017.
Saucedo is the eighth Homegrown signing for RSL, but the first to come from Utah.
