The groups for the 2016/2017 Development Academy playoffs are out. No. 1 seed Atlanta United was drawn into Group B, and looks to be one of the favorites at the event. Defending National Champion FC Dallas is the top team in Group C. Six of the top eight seeds at the U18 playoffs are MLS academies.
Despite the dominance from the MLS youth teams, there have been challenges from non-MLS teams along the way. This year, there are a number of non-MLS clubs with eyes for the title. TopDrawerSoccer takes a look at some of the sleepers to watch in the U18 Development Academy playoffs.
