U17 MNT player heads for Pac-12
September 29, 2011
The big winner this past week may have been the West Coast. More than a couple western programs acquired quality college prospects, beginning with San Diego State.

The Aztecs, of the Pac-12, recently got an exciting verbal for the 2012 season from standout Daniel Flores, the No. 27 ranked player in our Top 100.

Flores, of the U17 Men’s National Team, is a special talent who could easily become a collegiate star.

He will obviously bring big-game experience from the outset as well as an attacking mindset. Throughout his career Flores has shown that he has good technique and strength as a striker as well as a good positional sense. More importantly, Flores always plays hard.

A Fresno, CA, prospect, Flores will stay instate with his college choice, breaking the hearts of a number of programs interested in his services.

Other West Coast commitments include Santa Cruz Breakers Academy teammates Eric Mendez and John Chronopoulos.

Mendez, the No. 17 ranked player in the Northern California & Hawaii Region, has verbally committed to San Jose State for the 2012 season. Mendez is a big forward with good strength and speed who makes good use of his body.

Chronopoulos, the No. 15 ranked player in the Northern California & Hawaii Region, chose Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for the 2012 campaign. Chronopoulos brings great speed and has a good touch and nose for the ball that makes him a dangerous finisher.
