U.S. Soccer Technical Advisors Brian Johnson and Carson Porter will lead a weeklong training camp with a U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team composed of players born in 1997. Players will convene from March 23-31 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

Johnson and Porter have called 24 players to camp, with 18 of the players currently listed on a U.S. Soccer Development Academy club roster. A total of 18 players will then move on to compete for the U-17 ’97s at the 2013 Caspian Cup this May in Azerbaijan. The ’97 birth year represents the core age group for the eventual U-20 Men’s National Team that will begin competing for a spot in the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in early 2016.

The camp will run in conjunction with the U.S. U-15 Boys’ National Team training camp.
