That’s why TopDrawerSoccer.com is proud to announce a major change in our TeamRank feature. From now on, the regional rankings for every competitive club soccer team in the country will be determined by a fan from each team.

Here’s how it works:

• Rankings will be updated once a month, with each of our 16 regions updated on each of 16 days during the month. Teams in 12 age groups (U13 to U18 Boys and Girls) will have their updated rankings published on an assigned day for that region.
• The rankings will be determined by the voting of an assigned representative from each team in that age group/region. For instance, if you are with a U15 Girls team in Texas, you can vote for the teams in that age group and region, ranking them 1 to 10 (or however many teams are listed in that group). The votes of everyone in that age group/region will be tabulated and that will determine the ranking for that month.
• The current star ratings for teams will be eliminated.
• The staff at TopDrawerSoccer.com will continue to compile National Top 10 rankings for each age group/region. These rankings have been suspended temporarily while we transition to the new setup.
• To be a team voting rep you need to contact us at teamrank@topdrawersoccer.com. While each voter’s identity will be kept confidential, we need to know who you are so we can verify you are attached as a coach, player or parent with that team.
• Voters will be expected to submit their region/age group ranking once a month and to be responsible. While we will not micromanage the results, if we see someone clearly inflating their team’s value or lowering that of a rival, we will seek a replacement. This should be a fun thing but it shouldn’t be a joke.
