Dallas Reserves played the U.S. U-20 National Team to a 2-2 draw here Sunday evening, behind goals from Homegrown players Jonathan Top and Ruben Luna.

Despite the FC Dallas side controlling possession and scoring chances early on, it was the U.S. squad that notched the game’s first goal when FCD Academy product Danny Garcia played a ball through to Daniel Cuevas on the left flank in the 19th minute. Cuevas turned and outpaced his defender, while FC Dallas goalkeeper Chris Seitz moved to cut the young midfielder’s angle. Undeterred, Cuevas sent his shot across the mouth of the goal where it hit the far post and caromed in for a 1-0 U-20 lead.

Just six minutes later, Villyan Bijev made it 2-0 in favor of the U.S. squad, capitalizing on a mistake by the Dallas back line. Bijev won a 50-50 ball in the box and slotted it past Seitz for the second goal of the game.

Despite controlling the majority of possession, FC Dallas didn’t find the back of the net until the end of the first half when Top received the ball at the top corner of the box, took a couple of touches to the middle and fired a shot in to make it 2-1.

The Dallas side had several chances to pull even in the second half with Luna hitting the far post and trialist Juan Carlos Enriquez testing the 'keeper from the top of the box. Meanwhile, the U.S. side nearly added an insurance goal in the 81st minute when Mikey Lopez hit the far post, then found his own rebound for a second attempt, which Seitz pushed wide.

Finally, in the 83rd minute, Andrew Wiedeman dribbled down the right flank and found Luna in open space at the top of the box, setting up a perfect finish from the young forward.
