INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Wisconsin-Green Bay men's soccer team (6-1-2, 1-1-0) saw their first loss of the season come at the hands of conference foe Butler (6-1-0, 2-0-0) on Sunday.

It was a quiet first half as Green Bay was outshot 8-3 by the Bulldogs and managed just two corner kicks in the 0-0 tie at the break.

Tony Walls (Wauwatosa, Wis.) attempted the first shot for the Phoenix in the second period but was wide off the goal. Less than four minutes later Butler's Tyler Pollock put the Bulldogs on the board with a header from in front of the goal off a throw-in, giving Butler the 1-0 lead.

Thirty minutes later off a corner kick by David Prochazka (Gothenburg, Sweeden), Walls scored his third goal of the season to tie it up at 1-1. The Bulldogs did not go away quietly as Julian Cardona took a shot from 12 feet in front of the net and got it past Ryan Wehking (St. Louis, Mo.) to seal the 2-1 win.

Green Bay outshot Butler 11-6 in the second period, but it wasn't enough as the Phoenix suffered its first loss against the Bulldogs since 2005.

The Phoenix will return to their home field on Friday, October 2 when they host Detroit at 7p.m. in Horizon League play.
