BETHLEHEM, Pa. - More than halfway through its Patriot League schedule, the Lehigh women's soccer team returns home on Saturday for a big showdown against defending league champion Boston University. Coming off a scoreless draw at Loyola, the Mountain Hawks are currently in a tie for third place in the Patriot League standings, while Boston University stands in second.

Last time out, Lehigh and Loyola played to a scoreless draw. The defenses impressed as each team fired just 10 shots, only two on goal. Lehigh held a 5-3 shots edge in the second half and 3-0 advantage in the second overtime, but couldn't net the game-winning goal. The Mountain Hawks' defense ended up pitching its 10th shutout of the season, in 13 games, as Lehigh's shutout percentage of 76.9 leads the nation. Freshman goalkeeper Sam Miller was recognized for a strong week by being named the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week. She stopped three-of-four shots against No. 1 regionally-ranked Princeton last Tuesday before making two saves for the shutout on Saturday.

Following Saturday's games, the Mountain Hawks stand tied for third in the standings with a 2-2-1 record and seven points. The teams are bunched tightly together, with seven teams owning between four and seven points. Bucknell is in first place at 5-0 while Boston University is second at 4-1. Lehigh currently stands No. 9 in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings.

After beginning the season with 10 straight losses, the Terriers responded with four straight wins, beating American, Colgate and Loyola 1-0 before topping Lafayette, 3-0. Boston University then played Harvard to a 2-2 draw on Tuesday. The five-game unbeaten streak has come after a league-opening 2-0 defeat at Bucknell, which saw the Terriers hold a 16-8 edge in shots. McKenna Doyle leads the team in points with six behind two goals and two assists while Jesse Shreck owns five points (two goals, one assist) and  Rachel Blauner has four (two goals). Hannah Ciolek and Bridget Conway have split time in goal; Ciolek has recorded a 1.88 goals against average and .660 save percentage in 711:54 while Conway owns a 1.01 GAA and .731 save percentage in 568:06.

The Terriers lead the all-time series, 2-0-1. The only game at Lehigh was two seasons ago and featured a 1-1 draw. Every game has come since Boston University joined the Patriot League for the 2013 season.

Following Saturday's game, the Mountain Hawks head to archrival Lafayette on Wednesday to face the archrival Leopards at 7 p.m.
