BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's soccer team will look to continue its hot streak this weekend when it travels to Washington, D.C. to take on American. Saturday marks the beginning of Patriot League play for both teams. Gametime is set for 1 p.m.

The Mountain Hawks are coming off an impressive tournament win in California at the Saint Mary's College Classic. Lehigh won its final game on Sunday, beating the host school 2-0 to secure the tournament win. Senior Murphee Greeley netted her first goal of the season early in the first half to put Lehigh on the board. Junior Darby Dustman added an insurance goal midway through the second, and the defense pitched its second shutout in as many Sundays.

Dustman leads the Mountain Hawks in goals and points with two and four, respectively. Greeley is a close second with three points behind a goal and assist.

After opening the season 0-2, Lehigh is undefeated since and currently stands at 2-2-1 overall.

Lehigh has benefited from strong goalkeeping this season. Sophomore Ani Nahapetian and junior Ashley Blanks have combined to give up only four goals thus far. Blanksboasts a 0.73 goals against average, with Nahapetian close behind at 0.80. Greeley and Nahapetian were honorable mention on the Patriot League Weekly Honor Roll announced Monday.

American enters the game at 2-6 on the season, coming off an 0-2 finish at the Fairfield Invitational. The Eagles suffered tough 1-0 losses to both Fairfield and Hartford. American has faced a tough road schedule to open up the season, playing just three of their first eight games at home. The Eagles are 1-2 at home thus far, beating George Mason while falling to George Washington and UMBC.

Junior Lindsay Muri and freshman Marley Jennings lead the team in goals with two apiece. Junior Charlene Belanger has played well in net with a 1.41 GAA, 81.1 save percentage and 30 saves on the season.

Lehigh stands at 5-9-1 all-time against American with the Eagles winning last season by a score of 1-0.

Following this weekend's trip, the Mountain Hawks will return home for a Monday night game against La Salle. Lehigh will then welcome rival Bucknell next Friday (Sept. 27) for another Patriot League matchup.
