Marshall Edges ODU 2-1 In Overtime
MARSHALL EDGES ODU 2-1 IN DOUBLE OVERTIME
HUNTINGTON, WV.-- Daniel Marjodah’s goal with two minutes left in the second overtime period lift the Marshall Thundering Herd to a 2-1 victory over Old Dominion (4-4-1/0-1-1) Wednesday night.
ODU took the lead in the first half on a Tyler Edwards goal 14:39 into the match.
Marshall got the equalizer in the second half on a goal by Jack Mar Hopkins, then in the overtime, Tommy Trupo and Nick Edginton assisted on the game winner to Mar Jodah.
Overall shots for both teams were even at 16-16, but ODU had more shots on goal, 12-7. The Monarchs goalkeeper Alex Tiesenhausen had five saves, while Bijan Gloston had 11 for the Herd.
The Monarchs return home to host Florida Atlantic Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the ODU Soccer Complex.
