The men’s regular season is pretty much to a close. A few conferences without tournaments close out action this week, but the rest of the programs move onto tournament play. The final weekend of the regular season had a number of brilliant individual performances.

TDS Team of the Week (Nov. 2-9)

GK Wade Hamilton, Cal Poly - Hamilton made seven saves in Cal Poly’s 1-0 win over UC Irvine last week. Cal Poly scored early and Hamilton stood tall in goal to battle off the Irvine attack for most of the game. His play helped Cal Poly claim its first Big West Tournament win in program history. 

D Callum Montgomery, Charlotte - The freshman defender had a goal and an assist last week as the 49ers picked up two wins and only let in one goal in 180 minutes of play. Montgomery had the assist on the game-tying goal against UNC Wilmington, which finished as a 3-1 win for Charlotte. He scored in Charlotte’s 3-0 win over UAB. 

D Iman Mafi, Clemson - Mafi recorded an assist in Clemson’s 3-0 win over Boston College in the ACC quarterfinal. He was a key piece of the defense that only allowed two shots on goal during the game. 

D Brandon Aubrey, Notre Dame - The center back headed in the lone goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Virginia in the ACC quarterfinal. Aubrey found the back of the net in the 87th minute as he nodded home a corner kick service from Patrick Hodan. He also led the Notre Dame defense on the day, as the Irish only let Virginia get one shot on goal. 

D Keegan Rosenberry, Georgetown - Rosenberry had two assists for Georgetown in the 2-1 win over Creighton last week. The outside back dominated his side of the field and shut down a number of Creighton attacks. The Hoyas only conceded three shots on goal in the game. 

M Mitchell Taintor, Rutgers - Rutgers moved onto the Big Ten semifinals thanks to Taintor’s heroics in the offensive end. The senior midfielder scored twice in a 2-0 win for Rutgers over Northwestern on Sunday.

M Jackson Yueill, UCLA - The talented freshman midfielder scored twice on Sunday as the Bruins captured an impressive 3-1 come-from-behind victory over Washington. His first strike came on a quality free kick, which would be the game-winner. He added another in the second half on a brilliant team goal that he capped with a tenacious strike from just inside the 18-yard box. 

M Kyle Culbertson, Ohio State - The midfielder scored twice for the Buckeyes in a 3-1 win over Michigan, which clinched the Big Ten regular season title. He added the game-winner over the weekend in the Big Ten quarterfinal victory against Penn State. 

F Gordon Wild, USC Upstate - Wild sent Atlantic Sun favorites Florida Gulf Coast into an early offseason with his one goal and one assist performance on Sunday. Wild scored his 16th goal of the season midway through the second half to put the score at 2-2. He added his assist in overtime as the Spartans claimed a 4-3 win. 

F Stuart Holthusen, Akron - The sophomore forward scored twice in Akron’s 4-0 win over Bowling Green on Saturday. The attacking talent added an assist to the total as he led the Zips to their 18th league title. 

F David Olsen, Seattle - Olsen scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season on Saturday as Seattle defeated Utah Valley 2-0. The Sounders Academy product helped Seattle clinch the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.
