Staten Island, N.Y. (October 10, 2014) – In an evenly-matched Northeast Conference game on Friday night at Hameline Field, a 61st minute goal by Wagner proved to be the difference in a 1-0 loss for the Mount St. Mary's women's soccer team.

For the Mount (1-12-0, 0-2-0 NEC), senior forward Alicia Mirando put a pair of shots on target to lead the offense, while Johanna Konrad notched her team-leading fourth goal of the season for Wagner (6-6-1, 2-1-0 NEC).

Over the first 45 minutes of the contest, neither team was able to put a shot on frame as Wagner held a 4-2 advantage on shots heading into halftime.

The Seahawks managed the game's only goal when Konrad settled a through ball, dribbled past Mount goalkeeper Vicky Cocozza, and knocked the ball into the back of the net from the right side from 12 yards out.

The Mount, which registered five shots over the final 45 minutes, made several attempts to level the score toward the end of the game. Wagner goalkeeper Katie Marcy was up to the task, however, recording two saves to maintain the clean sheet.

Following Wagner's goal, Mirando fired two shots that were saved, and Kiley Graham and Nicole Vallely also sent in shots that sailed wide right.

For the Mount, Rachel Bourne played the opening half between the pipes without having to make a save, before Cocozza notched one save in the second half.

The Mountaineers will conclude the road trip on Sunday afternoon with another NEC game at LIU Brooklyn at noon.
