ODU-Maryland Postponed Due To Weather

ODU-MEN’S SOCCER MATCH POSTPONED

NORFOLK, VA-- The men's Soccer Match between top ranked Maryland and No. 4 Old Dominion has been deemed a no contest

and postponed due to wet grounds and the severe thunderstorms in the Norfolk area. The match was called with 18:28

left in the first half with the top ranked Terps leading, 1-0 on a goal by Patrick Mullins on an assist from

Sunny Jane. No make-up date has been set.

ODU senior Chris Harmon  had the Monarchs best opportunity when his shot was batted away by Maryland's keeper, Keith Cardona in the early minutes of the match.

ODU, fresh off its win at then No. 2 Creighton over the weekend came into tonight's match  ranked No. 4 by Soccer America and College Soccer News, No. 8 by Soccer TImes and 11 by the NSCAA/Coaches poll.  Maryland is also number one in the region, while ODU is second.

ODU returns to action Saturday in Philadelphia with a CAA match at Drexel, beginning at 4 p.m.
