SAN FRANCISCO - California Golden Bears sophomore forward Paul Salcedo was announced as a member of the inaugural Preseason All-Pac-12 team, the Conference office announced on Wednesday. The team was selected by the league's six coaches and the 11-player list consists of 10 field players and a goalkeeper. Seven of those selected were 2014 all-Conference honorees.

Salcedo had a very successful freshman season in 2014, which saw the Bears finish with an 11-7-1 record on their way to a Round of 16 appearance at the NCAA Tournament. The Inglewood, California, native tallied a total of four goals and four assists, finishing with 12 points as the fourth highest point total on the team. Salcedo was named Pac-12 Player of the Week once in 2014 and held a three-game scoring streak from Oct. 5 through Oct. 12. 

The Golden Bears opened training camp on Wednesday, holding a pair of training sessions to begin the 2015 campaign and head to Fullerton, California, later this week for five days. The trip culminates in the first of three exhibition matches, as the Bears take on Cal State Fullerton on Sunday, Aug. 16. They return home to Berkeley for another pair of tune-up matches, when they host Pacific on Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Saint Mary's on Saturday, Aug. 22, both at Edwards Stadium. Cal opens the 2015 regular season on Friday, Aug. 28, when they travel to take on another NCAA Tournament side from a year ago, the San Diego Toreros. Cal then opens its home slate on Friday, Sept. 4 when it hosts VCU.
