Garrett Seitz Named to CoSIDa Capital One Academic All-America Third Team

DENVER, Colo.:  Men's soccer junior Garrett Seitz earned a place on CoSIDa's Capital One Academic All-America Third Team after a note-worthy season both on and off the match pitch.

While earning a degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, the defender has maintained a 3.91 grade point average while starting in 17 contests during the 2012 season.  He netted one goal, while he assisted on one other and helped the Rangers to 0.94 goals against average.

Also in 2012, Seitz has been named to CoSIDa's Capital One Academic All-District First Team and the All-RMAC Second Team.

The Rangers finished 2012 with an RMAC regular season Championship under their belt, as well as their first ever NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance ever.  With a record high 17 wins, the Rangers (17-2-1, 14-0-0)  topped the Regis record books in points (173), points per game (8.65), goals (64), goals per game (3.2) and game-winning goals (17), among others.

Their undefeated conference season was the second all-time in RMAC history as well as another first for the Rangers.  Regis stayed #1 on the NSCAA/Continental Tire National Poll for three weeks, as well as owning a spot on the poll for 10 straight weeks after their first ranking on September 11th, 2012.  The #1 ranking was the first top spot ranking in Regis Ranger history for any sport.
