Oregon State men fall to Seattle

Seattle, Wash. – The Oregon State men’s soccer team fell in overtime to Seattle University 1-0 Saturday in Seattle, Wash. for its first loss of the season.
“We certainly had chances to score,” head coach Steve Simmons said following the loss. “Standing water on the field neutralized things we are able to do on offense.”
Seattle University (1-4-1) tallied up their first win in the 94th minute of the match. Seattle’s Sean Morris crossed it to Kyle Peterman off of a corner kick and passed it to Demaci Roussos who headed the ball in for his first goal of the season.
Oregon State (3-1-2 overall) had its chances having 10 shots, four on goal but couldn’t get anything to go in. Pacific-10 Conference leading scorers Colin Mitchell and Danny Mwanga had a combined three shots on goal.
“In the end we weren’t able to make plays and they made good on theirs,” Simmons said.
The Beavers head home to host the Hensor/Zaher Memorial Classic Sept. 25-27 when they take on Northern Illinois and Marist.
