West Virginia men defeat DePaul

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (September 27, 2009) - For the second-straight game, the West Virginia University men's soccer team defeated its opponent in overtime. Senior Gift Maworere scored his first goal of the season at the 94:07 mark to help the Mountaineers down DePaul, 2-1, in overtime on a chilly Sunday evening at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
The Mountaineers, riding a three-match winning streak, improve to 4-2-2 overall and 3-1-0 in the BIG EAST. DePaul drops to 5-4-0 and 2-2-0, respectively.
WVU returns to action on Oct. 3, when the team travels to Milwaukee, Wis., to take on Marquette. Kickoff at Valley Fields is set for 8:05 p.m. ET.
