UC Irvine women defeat Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. – The UC Irvine women’s soccer team (9-5-1, 2-2) defeated Pacific 1-0 Sunday afternoon in a Big West match at Stagg Memorial Stadium.

Freshman Mar Rodriguez (Santa Ana/Valley HS) took a free kick and delivered it inside the box where it was knocked into the net by senior Kate Berrini (Foster City/Notre Dame HS) in the 28th minute putting the ‘Eaters up 1-0.

Junior keeper Danielle de Seriere (Cerritos/Mayfair HS) had two saves as she earned her seventh shutout of the year. Keeper Jill Medigovich had one save for the Tigers.

The ‘Eaters return to Orange County Friday as they travel up to Fullerton to take on Cal State Fullerton at 7:00 p.m. in Big West play at Titan Stadium.
