700th win keeps UNC #1; UConn's Shufelt POTW
September 6, 2010
The 700th win of North Carolina head coach Anson Dorrance’s collegiate coaching career was also good enough to keep the undefeated Tar Heels on top of the latest TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s Tournament 64 National Ranking. Idle Stanford stays at #2 and Portland moves into the top 5 following a pair of wins combined with a 3-2 loss by Florida State to Auburn.
Meanwhile Connecticut’s Jessica Shufelt has been named TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Week following her role in the Huskies two wins this weekend. Shufelt scored four goals in wins against Illinois and Penn State, including overtime winners in both contests.
