UNC, Diouf gain top men's college honors
September 5, 2011
A pair of victories, including a high-profile 2-1 win over Louisville was more than enough to keep North Carolina at #1 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Tournament 48 National Ranking for men’s college soccer.
The ranking is a running effort to project the postseason NCAA Tournament field, including all automatic conference and at-large qualifiers. Weekly updates will appear every Monday.
Change at the top half of the list is minimal this week, but a few teams have dropped out for now, replaced by some fast starters for the 2011 campaign such as Villanova, Kentucky, Ohio State and Cal State Bakersfield
Meanwhile, Connecticut’s Mamadou Doudou Diouf is the TopDrawerSoccer.com Men's College Player of the Week following his 4-goal outburst in a pair of wins for the Huskies this weekend.
The TopDrawerSoccer.com Men’s College Team of the Week is chosen after reviewing every match report for Division One soccer.
