Francis Marion women lose to Duke

DURHAM, NC - Mollie Pathman and Kaitlyn  Kerr scored two goals apiece as 15th-ranked Duke University rolled to a 9-0 non-conference victory over Francis Marion University, Thursday evening (Sept. 2) in women's college soccer action.

 

Francis Marion (1-5-0) will return home to play host to East Tennessee State University on Sunday at 2 p.m. on the FMU Soccer Field.

 

Duke (3-1-0) is unbeaten in its last 30 contests at home against unranked non-conference opponents.  The Blue Devils will host High Point University on Sunday at 6 p.m.

 

Duke led in shots 29-3 and in corner kicks 8-0.  Senior Adrienna Osorio-McKenna, junior Kiley Williams, and freshman Jordan Allen registered the Patriots three shots.

 

FMU junior goalkeeper Lauren Vetock made five saves during the first half, while junior Casey Durham played the second stanza and made four stops.
 
Duke led 6-0 at halftime.
 
Kerr had one assist to go with her two scores.
