October 4, 2010
FULLERTON, Calif. – University of San Diego junior striker Stephanie Ochs scored twice within 2:15 of actual game time on Sunday night, helping lift the visiting Toreros to a, 2-1 non-conference women's soccer victory over Cal State Fullerton at Titan Stadium on Sunday evening.

With the win, the Toreros improve to 7-4-2 overall and have won back-to-back games for the first time since the beginning of September.  With the loss, the Titans fall to 3-8-0 overall, dropping their second straight and their sixth in their last seven matches.

Fullerton’s senior midfielder Christina Murillo put the Titans up early.  Murillo's sixth goal of the year came in the 31st minute of action as she took the ball at the top of the box and fired it in from the right corner for the 1-0 advantage.

San Diego then rallied in the final minute of the half on Ochs' first goal of the night, fighting off a defender on her right shoulder and left-footing a ball underneath a diving Fullerton keeper to even the match with just 1:04 remaining in the half.

Ochs and Jackie Zinke then wasted no time in hooking up a second time just 1:12 into the second half, as Zinke corralled a turnover and laid off a short pass to Ochs streaking into the box, where she beat the keeper one-on-one from about seven yards out for the game-winner.

For Ochs, they were her sixth and seventh goals of the season while Zinke tallied her third and fourth assists of the year.

Fullerton outshot San Diego 9-7, for the match, while each had four corner kicks apiece.

USD’s junior goalkeeper Courtney Parsons picked up the win in goal for the Toreros as she allowed one goal and recorded three saves.  Her counterpart, Jessica Change, was saddled with the loss in goal for the Titans as she allowed two goals and recorded two saves.

The Toreros will return to action on Sunday as they open West Coast Conference play with a road match against No. 13 Santa Clara University.
