Fairleigh-Dickinson men fall to Mount St. Mary'

The Fairleigh Dickinson men’s soccer team was defeated Sunday afternoon at Mount St. Mary’s, 1-0, in a Northeast Conference tilt in Emmitsburg, MD. The Mount scored a late second half goal to earn the victory. The Knights have now lost three straight. With the win, the Mount improve to 5-7 (2-2 NEC) on the season, while the Knights fall to 5-6 (1-3 NEC) overall.
Both teams failed to score over the first 45 minutes as the home team outshot the visitors, 4-2.
In the second half, the Mount were able to capitalize in the last second of the 74th minute as Alex Ockford found the back of the net off assists from Chris Wheeler and Eric Detzel. This gave Mount St. Mary’s a 1-0 lead, which would be the final outcome.
The Knights managed only five shots for the game, while the Mount fired 12 shots. Freshman Jacob Lissek made three saves in goal for the Knights before being pulled. Freshman James McPeake made one save over the final 15 minutes. Chris Davis made one save for the Mount.
The Knights return to action on Friday, October 15, as they host Robert Morris in a Northeast Conference match. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at University Field in Teaneck.
