Akron and the rest of MAC 3 Months ago Karma: 0
Has anyone out there seen Akron play yet? I have heard differing opinions of them. All Zakuani and nothing else. Bush appears to be a solid keeper. The guy I'm most curious about is Bunbury. I tend to think that they are over rated a little bit. The MAC seems to be a Jekyl and Hyde conference. Hartwick looks good...sometimes. Buffalo is standing up to be counted and NIU looks solid, but never seems to bust out and find consistency. Bowling Green .....you never know which team is going to show up.They have three pretty solid keepers in the MAC in Bush, Shuttleworth, and Zimka.

Akron is a top quality program and has been since the mid 70's. They have many skilled players are well balanced, and play a very entertaining brand of soccer. They are clearly the top team in the MAC Conference with Buffalo and NIU following in that order. The rest of the conference is mediocre; however, many teams are improving. Both Buffalo and NIU are deserving of top 25 recognition and most likely would beat several of the teams ranked in the top 20. You are correct, Evan Bush is an excellent keeper and has started since his freshman year. He is most likely one of the top 5-10 keepers in division 1 college soccer.

Have a nice day!
