I agree. The ESP selection process as to be filled with tremendous amounts of bias and favoritism. I mean come on, we all know it happens. Not to say that the players in Denver at ESP wont be good and legit talent, but i think that if i was to pick a selction process (coaches recommendation vs TopDrawerSoccer.com's scouting) i would definately go with TopDrawerSoccer.com's system... it clearly draws the best talent, and is the most fair.

There is no way I would ever let "Top Drawer" select a national team for example. If the fans or top drawer or bigsoccer were in charge, then they would be the national team coaches. A lot of money goes into ESP in order to attract the top talent in the country to go with Adidas . They want the best players there and aren't handing out favors. They don't want their money wasted at all. You have to be kidding if you thing bloggers should decide who gets picked for elite camps such as ESP or the national team camps. Don't be crazy!!

I would like to clarify my question. I am talking about omitting some of the 36 players
who were selected from the 100 who were invited, that were ommitted from the top drawer list.

First of all, this has nothing to do with TopDrawer as bloggers, which, im pretty sure theyre not. All i'm saying is, is that with a clean slate to evaluate players, there is NOTHING that can be said by a player who didnt get picked up (for esp for example). Example::: No... "well he knows this guy so hegot hooked up" Clearly they wouldnt pick the natinal team that is WAY off topic, but you cant say that evaluating players and having NO conneciton to them whatsoever is a bad idea. It gives players the best look from coaches and eliminates any politics.

I'll chime it....regarding the selection process, how does the Chicago Magic merit EIGHT players selected....VARDAR 4 WOLVES 3....seems to be a lot of players overlooked with specific clubs benefiting...just an observation.

Know your facts before you post on here again. At ESP, all the players are in 10th grade and younger. College coaches aren't allowed to make contact with these players. They can receive a phone call but that's it. So, they are "observing them" with no connection to the players. They are evaluating these players and advising on selections. National team scouts also advise on selections. All of these evals are from qualified observers whose job is to watch and coach soccer. Bottom line, a kid and his PARENTS will complain no matter what. But in this case, all the players are getting the best look and being evaluated fairly.

Let's make something else clear. As fun as this site is, there aren't any super qualified soccer minds making decisions. IE the rankings of the top recruits, which is way off in many cases and should NEVER be taken seriously. When top drawer has the best scouts in the country, which they won't because they are all working in soccer somewhere, they can pick the ESP list. Fair deal?
