I can't under stand how you ommitt players from your list who have been selected to this
years Adidas all star selections at Cal Poly Pomona in Feb of this year. Were they mistaken
in selecting them?

i think that the majority of the players present at esp are on or at some point will be on the top 100 list. I think that one thing topdrawersoccer.com does well is evaluate players from a strictly objective standpoint. i think that with a lot of things like odp and esp, politics and "who you know" comes into play a bit too much. anyone agree?

i am going to have to agree with ABsoccer23. The TDS system of pure evaluation of youth soccer eliminates for the most part all politics and favors from coaches. The best players will be on the list, and the ones who dont deserve it wont be on it. I mean, its constantly changing, people being added and dropped, so its obvious that is a very pure evaluation, as ESP and other programs are often freinds of coaches etc.

Let's not get out of control here. ESP has a far better selection process then Top Drawer. Adidas contacts college coaches from around the country and they select the top recruits who they'd like to see participate against each other. National team scouts also provide input on the selections. Not to say Top Drawer doesn't have good scouts but they don't have a say in the youth development or the credentials of those who actually give the advice and make the decisions.

regardless of who is doing the scouting, Top Drawer aside, the idea of a no bias evaluation of a players skill is still better. We all know that there are countless politics involved with soccer and no matter how much they say there not involved, they are. A pure evaluation from someone who knows nothing about ny of the players is a better way to do it as far as im concerned

I agree. The ESP selection process as to be filled with tremendous amounts of bias and favoritism. I mean come on, we all know it happens. Not to say that the players in Denver at ESP wont be good and legit talent, but i think that if i was to pick a selction process (coaches recommendation vs TopDrawerSoccer.com's scouting) i would definately go with TopDrawerSoccer.com's system... it clearly draws the best talent, and is the most fair.
