I think that the process goes a little something like this:
Some players can submit their information via the website, as i know some of my team mates have, or, they are seen by the scouts. From there, i think that the players are all evaluated and given a rating from there.
The scouts are at most of the major academy showcases, and i know theyll almost for sure be there in NC this weekend!!! good luck!

Yeah some of them really arent. Who are these scouts and what is their background? How do we know they are credible sources?

The only reason I think the ratings are off is that they are never updated. There is no way a 2009 recruit can be #1 from now until the fall of 2009. Players get better as they grow up and the list should be constantly updated. If the "top 100" was considered a pool of players, then I have no problem with it. They are missing a few but overall a very good pool. Not a very good ranking at all.

I think that the ratings are very accurate. Again, the pure form of evaluation allows there to be no bais in rating players. As we all know the pool of players is quite good, and the ratings are just icing on the cake for a the top players in the country for their age group. Im sure they will be updated soon as the current class is done with youth soccer.
