DENVER - The winds were strong early in the day's final match, but they settled down in time to make this probably the best match of the day to view.
The opening goal came in the 2nd half for Ross Paule's team when Ryan Neil made a good run down the right and served a useful ball into the area from where Arizona's Donny Toia finished. Toia had shown some ability to be dangerous on the opposite flank as Neil. New York's Orlando Castaneda scored the game-killing goal, capitalizing on a defensive miscue and finishing well.
For Team Paule, Aaron Hebden was a dynamo in central midfield, winning balls and continually harassing the opposition playmakers. Ryan Metts was good in advancing the ball out of the back line, Cody Mizell made the save of the day in goal and Scott Thomsen had a near miss with a turn and hard shot from the left wing.
For Team Caligiuri, Georgia's Darvin Ebanks showed a lot of skill in the back line, while Minnesota's Paul Yonga was tough in the tackle and Indiana's Harrison Petts was strong with his running and crossing from the right wing.
The teams will all be in action again Sunday morning.
