DENVER - Greater familiarity on the field and playes too tired to press made for more offensive action on this 3rd day of matches at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, and the final contest of the morning was no exception, with Team Caligiuri defeating Team Santel 3-1. Sebastian Lletget opened the scoring with a 1st-time strike from just inside the area to put Team Caligiuri up 1-0. Josh Gatt then scored one of the goals of the tournament for Team Santel, bringing a ball down on the right side of the area, dribbling across the top of the box and then hitting a stunning, left-footed drive across his body and into the back of the net to level the score at 1-1. Chipper Root engineered and finished the go-ahead goal for Caligiuri late in the half. The CASL Elite forward hit a good volley that forced an equally good save from Drew Hutchins, but Dylan Asher corralled the rebound and sent it back to Root, who left the keeper with no chance on his 2nd effort. Lepekola Seetane scored another great in the 2nd half, running from midfield through the middle and then uncorking a dipping, 30-yard bomb that made it 3-1. Alec Sundly nearly made it 4 with another hard shot, but Hutchins made a good parry then denied Cole Chapleski from point-blank range to keep the score at 3-1. Gatt and Clifford Lyle both came close for Team Santel but the score held firm and the teams broke in anticipation of Monday night's All-Star game.
