The TopDrawerSoccer.com All-America package in the culmination of months of research and evaluation of the top high school-playing talent in the nation. While high school soccer is offered in the fall, winter or spring -- depending on state -- TDS waits until after the school year is complete to release its All-America, All-Region and state All-Stars. Fall-playing states are acknowledged Tuesday, followed by winter-playing states on Wednesday and spring-playing states on Thursday. The lists are compiled by TDS senior high school editor Sheldon Shealer and reflects observation and information provided by coaches and local reporters.

SPRING: Southeast states hog up All-America spots

Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia combined to take 24 of the 48 spots boys and girls All-America spots. On one level, that's not much of a surprise given the spring boys season is dominated by the Southeast region. But the head-shaker this year was the fact those three states combined for nine girls soccer All-America selections.

TDS honors 12 first-team and 12 second-team players on its All-America team, which is pulled from the "Great Eighty-Eight" -- the 88 players who received All-Region honors. In addition, every spring-playing state is represented in our list of State All-Stars.

A pair of high school teammates, both rated in the Top 10 of the IMG Academy Top 150, grace the girls All-America first team. The loaded first 12 includes the three of the nation's Top 10 Class of 2016 prospects, along with two seniors who have been members of the U.S. Soccer Youth National teams.

On the boys side, 10 of the 12 first-team members are bound for NCAA Division I programs. South Carolina and Virginia each have six players on the first 24, while Georgia and Oklahoma follow with three each.

WINTER: Sunshine State leads the way in winter talent

California and Texas tend to dominate the high school team rankings, but when it comes to individuals, Florida trumps them both. Of course, one school -- Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) -- on the boys side helps tip the scales. On the boys and girls first- and second teams, Florida acounted for 18 of the 48 selections. California was next with 14, followed by Texas with 10.

TDS honors 12 first-team and 12 second-team players on its All-America team, which is pulled from the "Great Eighty-Eight" -- the 88 players who received All-Region honors. In addition, every winter-playing state is represented in our list of State All-Stars.

Two of the TDS first-team boys picks are plying their trade for professional teams. Montverde Academy senior Matheus Silva signed with the San Jose Earthquakes in MLS, while California product Juan Suarez signed with a lower division team in Argentina. Twelve of the 24 boys picks hail from Florida schools.

The girls All-America team can be summed up in one word: firepower. The five first-team forwards combined for 232 goals this season. Two of them added more than 20 assists. If that wasn't enough, the four midfielders chipped in with nearly 100 combined goals. California, to no surprise, leads the way in the girls selections with nine players.

FALL: The Garden State grows talent like no other in the fall

Five girls and three boys from New Jersey, in addition to a National Coach of the Year, highlight this year's TopDrawerSoccer Fall All-America lists.

TDS honors 12 first-team and 12 second-team players on its All-America team, which is pulled from the "Great Eighty-Eight" -- the 88 players who received All-Region honors. In addition, every fall-playing state is represented in our list of State All-Stars.

The girls first-team All-America list includes seven players who are bound for ACC programs, including a pair of youth national team sophomores, who are crashing the senior-heavy team. Just about every player has been part of a U.S. Soccer Youth National Team camp.

Every member, except one, of the boys first-team All-America selections have signed or committed to NCAA Division I programs. The one exception is Kaan Ilgin from New York, who has signed a professional contract and bypassed college soccer. The first team, to no surprise, is East Coast-heavy as nine players hail from states that border the Atlantic Ocean. Of those nine, four players compete at prep schools in the Northeast.
