The winter high school soccer season is officially here for the entire nation. And that means it's NSCAA polling time.

Texas is the final state to kick off its winter season later this week, and NSCAA has its first batch of winter polls to release. First comes the national ranking, which honors California side Monte Vista as its initial girls No. 1. The Danville outfit's biggest scalp so far this season was an impressive run to the Tri-Valley Classic Invitation Division championship, which required five wins in three days.

Plano West has won back-to-back Class 5A state titles in Texas and is on the road to a three-peat this winter as the Wolves get their title defense started this weekend. San Diego's Torrey Pines is the only perfect team on this list at 10-0-0 through its first 10.
