Three of the top 4-ranked SIMA FAB 50 fall boys teams lost last week. Not to be outdone, seven of the top 15 girls teams also tasted defeat.

The net result, a major overhaul for several regional rankings this week.

On the boys side, Canton (Mich.), Appoquinimink (Del.), Wheaton Academy (Ill.) and Shea (R.I.) all move into region No. 1 positions following losses by last week's regional top team. In addition, Chaminade (Mo.), based on the sheer quality of its wins, moves back to the top of the Midwest region. The changes regionally will lead to a new-look Top 10 for the SIMA FAB 50 on Tuesday.  Jesuit (Calif.) and St. Benedict's (N.J.) make the strongest cases for No. 1, while undefeated Canton and Appoquinimink also have an argument for the top spot.

On the girls side, Immaculate Heart (N.J.) ended an 88-match undefeated streak for Northern Highlands (N.J.), which puts IHA in the debate for SIMA FAB 50 No. 1. Northern Highlands, the previous SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 team, will finish out of the title chase in 2014, although another state title is very possible. With McDonogh (Md.) finished with a perfect record and Walsh Jesuit (Ohio) nailing down a second straight large-school state title in Ohio, the chase for No. 1 on the girls side is quite deep. In other regional moves, Fishers (Ind.) and Eagan (Minn.), which finished play last week, inherit No. 1 this week after the previous top-ranked teams took playoff tumbles.
