FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The fall season includes the following states: California (fall), Connecticut, D.C., Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia (private), Washington, West Virginia.
The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,300 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: It took a bit longer than expected, but McDonogh capped a perfect season with a shootout victory over Notre Dame Prep after a 0-0 match. North Carolina State commit Kia Rankin converted the deciding penalty kick. North Carolina commit Bridgette Andrzewjwski, Danni Steigerwald and Gaby Vincent also converted PKs. McDonogh defeated teams from three states, highlighted by a 5-0 win over perennial New Jersey prep power Pennington Prep. The Eagles outscored their opponents 67-4 on the season. McDonogh has now won four of the last five IAAM titles.

Immaculate Heart Academy Twp. of Washington, NJ 19-0-0
Alex Mesropyan scored the winning goal as Immaculate Heart upended Northern Highlands 2-1 to win the Bergen County Tournament last week. The result ended Northern Highlands' undefeated streak at 88 matches and put IHA in the conversation of FAB 50 No. 1.

Juniors Madison Gonzalez and Maya Barton scored the goals as Maria Carrillo defeated Sonoma Valley 2-0 in the section quarterfinals.

Walsh Jesuit Cuyahoga Falls, OH 22-0-1
Season Complete. Ohio Division I state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,300 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Sofia Rossi had two goals and one assist and Juli Knapp added a goal and two assists as Walsh Jesuit routed Dublin Coffman 4-1 in the state final, the program's third straight crown. Walsh Jesuit had defeated Dublin Coffman 1-0 earlier in the season. Walsh won the Division II title in 2012 and the Division I title in 2013. The team's undefeated streak stands at 64 matches. Senior Halle Stelbasky was named to the Ohio Division I all-state team.

Northern Highlands Allendale, NJ 18-1-0
Northern Highlands' undefeated streak ended at 88 matches after a 2-1 setback to Immaculate heart Academy last week.

St. Anthony's Melville, NY 17-0-1
Francesca Venezia scored twice on assists from her sister Niccola as St. Anthony's routed St. Joseph by the Sea 5-0 in the Catholic high school state semifinals. St. Anthony's was scheduled to face Christ the King in the champion match Monday in what is expected to be 77-year-old head coach Dave Prutting's final match. He said he is retiring after the season.

Massapequa Massapequa, NY 15-1-3
Melanie Hingher scored twice in the first half as Massapequa rolled to a 3-0 win over West Islip for the program's second straight Long Island Class AA title. The Chiefs advance to this week's state semifinals.

Season Complete. Minnesota Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: US Youth National team player Jade King scored the lone goal as Eagan capped an undefeated season with a 1-0 win over Eden Prairie. The win marked Eagan's first state title since 1996. Head coach Turk Ozturk, who led Lakeville North to a Class AA state runner-up finish last year, took over the Eagan program this past summer.

Acton-Boxborough Acton, MA 18-0-1
Arundel Miguelez scored both goals as Acton-Boxborough opened postseason play with a 2-0 win over Haverhill.

Fishers Fishers, IN 16-1-6
Season Complete. Indiana Class AA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Freshman Gretchen Mills scored the lone goal as Fishers stunned Carmel 1-0 for the program's first state title. Fishers was the runner-up to Avon last year. Fishers' lone loss was to city rival Hamilton Southeastern, which it avenged in the postseason. In addition, Fishers tied Carmel, had a win and a draw with Noblesville, and a draw with St. Ursula Academy (Ohio). Overall, Fishers went 3-1-5 against teams that appeared in the SIMA FAB 50 this season.

Season Complete. Indiana Class AA state runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 4,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Carmel's bid for a 10th state title since Indiana sanctioned the sport in 1994 was denied in a 1-0 setback to Fishers. Carmel went 6-2-2 against teams that appeared in the SIMA FAB 50 this season. Seniors Amanda Shaw (Missouri) and Ryan Kokoska (UC Santa Barbara) have committed to NCAA Division I programs.

Brebeuf Jesuit Indianapolis, IN 22-1-0
Season Complete. Indiana Class AA region runner-up.
School Facts: Private, 775 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Brebeuf Jesuit's perfect run ended with a 3-1 loss to Carmel in the region final. That result came just days after Brebeuf Jesuit defeated Avon in the region semifinal. Michigan commit Reilly Martin ended the season with 29 goals and 27 assists. Brebeuf Jesuit outscored its opponents 115-18, and posted key wins over Avon, Center Grove, Zionsville, Mount Notre Dame (Ohio) and Notre Dame Academy (Ky.).

Walt Whitman received goals from three players as the Vikings defeated Eleanor Roosevelt 3-1 in the Class 4A state semifinals. Whitman next faces Howard with a chance to repeat as state champs.

Linganore Frederick, MD 17-0-0
Linganore, which has allowed only three goals this season, will make its first state final appearance in the program's history this Thursday, and the team will be facing perennial power River Hill, which has won nine state titles since 1997.

Central Bucks East Doylestown, PA 19-3-2
Delaney Kennedy scored the match-winning goal in overtime as Central Bucks East edged previously undefeated Seneca Valley 2-1 to advance to this week's Class AAA state semifinals. CBE has pinned the only losses on the records of Villa Joseph Marie and Seneca Valley, teams who are otherwise a combined 42-0.

Murphy Agnew scored four goals as Villa Joseph Marie routed Dallas 5-0 to advance to this week's Class AA state semifinals.

Clarksville Clarksville, TN 24-0-3
Season Complete. Tennessee Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Kelsey Greiff, Salera Jordan and Ella Baggett scored as Clarksville claimed the program's first state title with a 3-1 win over Germantown Houston. The result ended a 46-match undefeated run for Houston. Clarksville ended the season with a 19-match win streak. Jeff Jordan, the coach of Clarksville, has coached a number of the players since elementary school.

School Facts: Public, 1,700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Casey Estey scored the first two goals as Exeter handled Bedford 3-0 in the state final, giving Exeter its fifth state title in six seasons and second undefeated season in three years. Bedford upset then undefeated Exeter in last year's state final.

Douglas edged Galena 1-0 last week to advance to this week's state tournament. Gabby Vega scored the winning goal.

Skyline Sammamish, WA 12-2-2
Kelli Sullivan and Lindsey Fujiwara scored the goals as Skyline avenged an earlier loss to Issaquah with a 20- win. The result sent Skyline into this week's state tournament, while Issaquah was forced to win a play-in match to advance.

Issaquah Issaquah, WA 12-2-1
After losing to Skyline to start the week, Issaquah bounced back with a 2-1 win over Woodinville on a late goal by Olivia Witherspoon. That result sends Issaquah into the state tournament, where yet another match with Skyline is possible.

Randolph edged Livingston 1-0 last week to remain the No. 3-ranked New Jersey team in the SIMA FAB 50.

Season Complete. Ohio Division II state champion.
School Facts: Private, 700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Junior Emma Heise scored twice and senior Meghan Martella added the clincher as McNicholas handled Archbishop Hoban 3-0 in the state final. NCAA Division I prospect Sophie Gorman, a sophomore, was named to the Ohio coaches Division II first-team all-state squad.
