New Top 100 commitments roll in

In this week’s update we continue to breakdown the signing classes of programs across the country, while keeping you posted on exclusive 2012 commitments.

Let’s start with the men:

Virginia

The Cavaliers welcome Eric Bird (Beach FC Fire), No. 27 ranked Matt Brown (Charlotte Soccer Academy), No. 30 Spencer Lacivita (CASL), Kyle McCord (New York Red Bulls), Calvin Rezende (Weston Academy), Grant Silvester (California Development Academy), No. 20 Chris Somerville (Baltimore Bays), Kyler Sullivan (Arlington Venom) and No. 32 Ryan Zinkhan (Richmond Strikers).

Indiana

Joining a competitive Big Ten will be 9th ranked Jack Coleman (FC Dallas), Lance Davis (Indiana United), Patrick Doody (Chicago Fire), Michael Soderlund (Idaho Rush), Kyle Sparks (Westside United), Sean Weidman (Indiana United) and No. 6 Eriq Zavaleta (Real Salt Lake).

UC Santa Barbara
 
Heavy on transfers this upcoming season, the Gauchos also introduced their talented freshman class, including: Chris Roell (Amity Forza FC), No. 74 Marcial Cazares (Chivas USA) and Charlie Miller.  

Georgetown

Tomas Gomez (St. Louis Scott Gallagher), Austin Martz (PA Classics), Nicolo Muniz (Real Salt Lake (AZ)), Jared Rist (Triangle Futbol Club), Tyler Rudy (DC United), Rory Shepard (FC Westchester) and Tom Skelly (Shattuck St. Mary’s) will join the Hoyas in 2011.

2012

A couple of young men decided on their future destinations recently, including: Malcolm Harris (Baltimore Bays), our No. 38 ranked 2012 player, who chose to attend Denver.

Brandon Allen (New York Red Bulls), No. 29, is heading to Georgetown.

WOMEN

Notre Dame

The defending champions are doing some serious reloading. No. 5 Lauren Bohaboy (So Cal Blues), Jennifer Jasper (Solar SC), No. 59 Taylor Schneider (Dallas Texans), No. 47 Sammy Scofield (Eclipse Select), No. 7 Karin Simonian (Albertson SC) and No. 45 Sarah Voigt (Ponte Vedra Storm) will all be joining forces with the Fighting Irish.

Kaitlin Dickmann

California

The Bears’ class features No. 87 Taylor Comeau (De Anza Force), No. 77 Kaitlin Dickmann (So Cal Blues), Kory Lamet (Mustang SC), Lorin Hom (De Anza Force), No. 43 Sandra Ley (MVLA Nor Cal), and Kalia Rothlind (Marin FC).

Dayton

Haley Keller (Carmel United Soccer Club), Allison Klinefelter (Century United), Amanda Sivic (Cleveland Internationals), Kelsey Smigel (Cleveland Futbol Club) and Sara Vaughan (Ohio Premier Eagles) join the Flyers.

Vanderbilt

Brittanie Barbero (Dallas Sting), Taylor Elliott (Massapequa Storm), Gena Inbusch (Ohio Premier), Cherrelle Jarrett (GSA Phoenix), Ashley Oswald (Team Boca), No. 71 Taylor Richardson (Clearwater Chargers), Britney Thomas (Dallas Sting), Ashley Vega (FC Dallas) will join the Commodores.

2012

Barbara Platenberg (Braddock Road YC), our No. 35 ranked player in her class, recently committed to William & Mary(w).

“I went for an unofficial overnight visit and loved the campus and had fun meeting the team,” she said. “It just seemed like the perfect fit for me.”

Maddison Kiebel (Colorado Rush), our No. 63 ranked player in her class, committed to Charlotte.

Claire Falknor (Ohio Elite), our No. 91 prospect, has committed to Florida.
