Major program snatches three 2013 Top 100s

In a couple years, when all of these committed stars make their way to the Stanford campus the Cardinal is going to have an overcrowded dilemma on its hands.

But I guess as problems go, that’s a pretty good one to have. So until then, Stanford will keep reeling them in and sort out the talent later.

You can attribute three more blue chip prospects to the powerhouse program after a trio of highly touted 2013s announced their commitment to Stanford.

Goalkeeper Jane Campbell, ranked No. 14 player in the Top 100, is one of the names to drop. Recently called into the U.S. U17 Girls National Camp, Campbell had her choice of top programs including Florida State, Penn State, Auburn, Georgia and Virginia.

In the end, Campbell wanted to avoid the deliberating that often comes with being a top recruit, and she feels she has found the ideal college home.

“My main decision to commit so early is because I honestly wanted to be done with the whole process,” Campbell said. “It was a long and busy year traveling all the time to visit schools, but it was definitely a fun year as well. Stanford was my last college visit. When I stepped on the campus I thought it was incredible. Everything seemed to be perfect.”

Stephanie Amack (Mustang FC) will be joining Campbell after lending her verbal commitment to Stanford for 2013. Amack is a standout defender and U.S. National Team player who is ranked No. 46 among 2013 Top 100 players. Aware that she is one of many young commits to the program, Amack welcomes the prospect of joining other stars.

“I’m excited about playing with some great players these upcoming years. That’s always a plus,” she said. “I committed at this time because I had the research and felt like I could make a sure decision with no regrets.”

Completing the Stanford-bound triumvirate is Emily Bruder, of Avalanche Premier, the No. 53 ranked player among 2013 Top 100 players.

Bruder is a dangerous striker who you will also find at U.S. National Team camps.
