Dangerous pair of 2013s set to join in college
March 16, 2012

For much of this season, Andrew Brody has been steering the dominance of the U16 Real Salt Lake (AZ) Academy Squad. The team has been running through opponents like finish line tape and their first place standing in the SoCal Division is evidence.

But Brody always kept an eye on an additional goal – his college future – and he recently completed an important hurdle in the process.

Our No. 54 ranked player in the 2013 class, Brody has verbally committed to Louisville. Just as Brody wreaks havoc on defenses alongside teammate Bejamin Lopez, he’s looking forward to an equally lethal partnership in college.

“I know that Romilio Hernandez (No. 47 in the 2013 Top 100) is a great player and I’m looking forward to playing with him and I think we can form an excellent partnership,” he said.

Brody said he was taken by the Cardinals coaching staff, and feels that his style will mesh with the Big East powerhouse. He also strongly considered North Carolina and Wake Forest.

Speaking of that style, Brody is a quite nimble attacker. He’s not your biggest player, but his speed, vision and elusiveness more than split the difference.

So, yeah, he’s looking to dominate; in the present, and the future.

Other commitments include:

Nico Corti (Real So Cal) has verbally committed to Stanford for the 2013 season.

Stathi Patseas (Omaha Football Club) has signed to Hastings College for the 2012 season.

Luis-Gabriel Charvet (East Diablo United SC) has signed to Notre Dame de Namur University for the 2012 season.
