ECNL standout headed to Big East

Grace Damaska and Georgetown go back a long way. Way back.

“I first visited (Georgetown) during a WAGS tournament when I was 11,” she said. “It is a special place.”

It is also a place where Damaska will be adding a few more years of history. The 2013 standout has committed to the Hoyas, choosing them over programs like Clemson and Penn.  
 
Damaska is an elite ECNL player for the Atlanta Fire where she is her team’s leading scorer and play-maker and always seems to rise to the occasion with big performances in the league’s important events.

At Georgetown she thinks she’s found an environment to help hone her dynamic ability in the next phase of her career.

“I feel like I fit well with the Georgetown style of play and the personalities of the coaches and players,” Damaska said. “I also love their academic reputation and location.”

Joining Damaska in today’s update is Abigayle Gearing, an Eclipse Select star who has verbally committed to Tennessee Tech for the 2013 season.
 
Gearing has played up for her club on the U18 team Eclipse team and also put in her team in the USYSA National League. 
 
Natasha Kouo, of PDA, is a former US Youth Soccer U15 National Champion, and recently has committed to Maryland for the 2013 season. 
 
Other commits include: 
 
Alexa Schneider (East Meadow United) has verbally committed to Albany for the 2013 season. 
 
Emily Mosbacher (MVLA) has signed to Harvard for the 2012 season. 
 
Haley Hooper (Windy City Pride) has verbally committed to Trinity College for the 2013 season. 
 
Paige Phillips (FC Delco) has verbally committed to Vermont for the 2013 season. 
 
Haley Pounds (Challenge SC) has verbally committed to Texas A&M for the 2014 season. Pounds has been a U14 and U15 U.S. National Team player.  
 
Haley DesRosiers (Aztec Soccer) has verbally committed to Holy Cross for the 2013 season. 
 
Clare Pleuler (Aztec Soccer) signed with Boston University for the 2012 season. 
 
Shannon Mulvey has verbally committed to Saint Joseph’s for the 2013 season. 
 
Megan Tracewell (Penn Fusion) has verbally committed to Rhode Island for the 2013 season. 
 
Erin Booth has verbally committed to Minnesota for the 2013 season. 
 
Haley Yow (FC Virginia Hotspur) has verbally to Duquesne for the 2013 season. 
 
Blake Pruitt (D’Feeters) has signed to Arkansas for the 2012 season.
