Colorado State has announced it will add a women’s soccer program this upcoming fall.
Set to compete in the Mountain West Conference, the program has begun an immediate search for a head coach as it builds the framework for a roster.
“We are excited about providing this competitive opportunity to women in Colorado and throughout the nation,” Director of Athletics Jack Graham told the Colorado State athletics site. “We expect this program to build on the tremendous interest in women’s soccer in Colorado and to achieve national prominence.”
Unfortunately, for a few select Colorado State athletes, the addition of women’s soccer will come at the cost of women’s water polo – which will be discontinued following the current season.’
