Goal of the Week time is upon us, friends. This week we’ve got a thrilling game-winner from the Quinnipiac men and a beautiful dart from the Wake Forest women.
First up is Quinnipiac’s Simon Hinde, who was on the receiving end of a wonderful one-touch assist from James Doig. Hinde responded with a one-touch goal of his own into the upper right corner for a 2-0 lead over Canisius. It proved to be the game-winner after Canisius scored once more, vaulting Quinnipiac to 3-0-1 in the MAAC and into a tie for the league lead. The goal was as important as it was pretty.
Our second comes from Wake Forest junior Riley Ridgik, whose howitzer into the opposite corner gave the Demon Deacons a 1-0 lead over defending national champs North Carolina. The Tar Heels ultimately rallied to win 2-1 in overtime, but Ridgik certainly did her part with one of the goals of the season.
Your turn. Time to hit the ballot box, America.
TUESDAY UPDATE (5 p.m.): Congrats to Wake Forest’s Riley Ridgik for taking home this week’s College Goal of the Week. We’ll see you again on Monday for another installment.
