It was another fantastic week for college golazos, and we’ve got two heavyweights weighing in this week from a thriller on the southwestern tip of Ohio to a fierce battle of South Carolina rivals. Vote after the jump.
Our first is one of the nuttiest game-winners you’ll ever see from the shores of the Ohio River. IUPUI surprised Cincinnati by leveling last week’s game at 1-1 in the 86th minute, creating a frantic scramble for goals in the final moments. The Bearcats earned a corner with less than 10 seconds left, and Alan Rovira sprinted to take it. Rovira shuttled in his cross just in time for Ben Keane to meet it, and Keane’s blast with literally no time left on the clock allowed Cincy to escape with the full points. Whoof. Exhale.
The second is an unreal blast from Furman’s Tyler Peoples against formidable rival Clemson. The two top 20 South Carolina sides entered the contest with bragging rights on the line, and Peoples helped Furman edge ahead in the 18th minute with this laser. Difficulty modifier x1,000 thanks to the one-time touch and the erratic nature of the bouncing ball as he connected. Furman went on to win the game 2-1, and the Paladins are currently a sparkling 10-1-2.
So which goal takes it this week? Choose wisely.
TUESDAY UPDATE: Furman’s Tyler Peoples is our winner this week with 57 percent of the vote. Congrats to Paladin Nation.
