ESPN today released their NEXT 10: a collection of youth athletes from various sports that project to have promising futures.
It’s no surprise that U.S. National Team and FC Dallas standout Kellyn Acosta made the esteemed list. Acosta, who started for the U.S. U17 squad during the World Cup in Mexico, is an athletic and versatile player who can be put anywhere on the field.
His future is likely as a defender but he has shown attacking prowess throughout his career. When we chatted with Acosta back in February, shortly after he made a verbal commitment to Maryland, he spoke about his determination to become a professional.
His presence as the only soccer player on this list clearly shows he’s already in select company.
